18 month well baby check-up & Happy 21st Robbie!
Today Aniston & I headed out for her Doctor appointment a little early {btw I can't believe she is already 18 months old!} I thought maybe we would try to catch Santa on base for pictures but that was a no go. Then I thought we could walk around the planes & enjoy seeing all the different ones but it was way too cold out. So basically our day was a bust...until Aniston decided that she was going to make her own fun & drive Mommy's car.
I'm glad that she got to have some fun because between her teething, flu shot & getting handed over to strangers she had a rough time at the Doctor's. Did I mention this was all after she was a hour past her daily nap time? Note to self- never.ever.book.a.doctor.appt.after.nap.time.EVER. I felt bad for her because I know she had a rough day so we just snuggled & I let her push her stroller around with my help. She measured 34" {which is the 100 percentile} & 26 lbs. {which is the 80 percentile}. I can't believe how fast she is growing. Speaking of growing how is my little cousin 21 today? Oh.my.time.flies. Hope you had a wonderful 21st Birthday Robbie! We send our love.
We are very excited that Grammie comes to visit tomorrow!

How we have been filling our days since Daddy left
On Monday I decided to take Aniston to the library & luckily we were just in time for the toddler time. Aniston was very serious around the other kids. Then when she wasn't being serious she was focusing on sitting in the chairs & hoarding the animals. Initially I think she thought the lady leading the group with crazy but eventually she started smiling & having fun. I often wonder what she is thinking about when she is being so serious. This side of Aniston comes out whenever she is around new people {i.e. every trip to the store when people think she is just so cute & want to see her smile.} But instead she just watches every move everyone makes. The kids that tried to take her toys didn't have a chance because there was no way she was going to share with those strange kids {well at this age she doesn't want to share with many people.} But it was really interesting to see how much bigger she was then the other girls who were anywhere from 3-6 months older then her. I hope she loves being tall as much as I do.
Today we started off the day with a trip to the Honda dealer for a recall on our new Pilot. Luckily we weren't one of the vehicles with the seat belt issue {there are only 20 of them.} So we decided to celebrate this by heading to my favorite store

Oh if only I could live there {Heaven must be a really large Costco store - I am convinced.} Aniston & I split a slice of cheese pizza & it was heavenly {again why I think Heaven must be like a giant Costco.} After Aniston's nap we were able to go on a nice walk & even though it was cold we enjoyed ourselves. When we got home we played outside to work up our appetites. Then it was time to eat since our Taco Tuesday was cancelled we had a plate full of random leftovers & some quick fixes. Aniston has been doing really good with feeding herself {even though I don't let her do it nearly enough because it's messy - yes I am that kind of Mother.} But tonight she had her play clothes on so I said what the heck get messy & of course she was very very neat.

今私の愛のためにさようなら
{Goodbye for now my love}
I still can't believe that Berek left tonight. I was really strong until he got on the plane & we walked to the car alone & then it finally hit me. I was just tearing up though but once I went to put Aniston in her car seat she started crying because she was so very tired then I felt like I had someone to cry with & let it all out. Luckily it didn't last very long & I didn't get completely hysterical. It was way different than my experience last year because Aniston was only 2 weeks old & I had no control over my hormones. Berek couldn't even sit near me without me getting hysterical. But since then we have done a few detachments & I realize that we are just saying goodbye for now not forever.
The last few days I have been focusing on the positive of Berek leaving {clearly I am an experienced Navy Wife already.} First thing is NO FOOTBALL!!! YAY!!! I couldn't be more excited about this. From the moment Berek opens his eyes in the morning the sports radio talk shows start & then come the games. But then he also can't ever put down his phone which allows him to check out his fantasy football games every 2 seconds & then comes the research & trading of players. Ohh the housework he could get done if he would just spend 20% off that time cleaning & organizing! The other big thing is his love for procrastination....with everything non-football. This is a trait passed down from his Father & I often ask my MIL how she deals?!?! But those are the only two things I can focus on & unfortunately the things I will miss are wayyyyyy longer!!!
Now that deployment has officially started let the countdown officially begin! 6 hours down! Woo Hoo!
